JAPAN EROTICA'S EXHIBITONLeo Sawaki
Birth year/Place :1948, Osaka Education/Biography :Graduated from Osaka City Kogei High School, Fine Art course in 1966. Sawaki
joined Japan Publication Artist League in 1986 and started to hold solo and group exhibitions. Sawaki
received Hochi Shimbun Illustration Award in 1995 and Nikkan Gendai Illustation Award in 1998.
He now lives in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Pref.
Since his early 20s, Sawaki was inspired by the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism founder Ernst Fuchs.
Sawaki has been trying to follow Fuchs, not necessarily in techniques but to approach his view of the
world especially focusing on the eroticism that Fuchs portrayed in his work.
